Rutendo was born in Harare, Zimbabwe where she spent her formative years. In 2006, her and her family migrated to the United States where she pursued her education in health sciences.
Rutendo obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) degree from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She subsequently earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P) degree from Grand Valley State University. Upon completion of her D.N.P education, she received certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). Through her career in healthcare, Rutendo has gained expertise in various specialties such as endocrinology, oncology and acute rehabilitation. She has special interests in sports medicine, diabetic and vascular wound care.
She currently lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Outside the office, Rutendo enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, cooking and taking care of her plant babies.
